When it comes to getting what we want, we want it NOW! Instant gratification has become part of our society - it's everywhere we look these days.
When it comes to making REAL changes though, the fact is slower is better. Here is why.
1) Your body will like you. It takes time for your body to adjust to changes in diet, exercise, sleep patterns, etc. Listen to your body and what it needs. Depriving your body of necessities or what it's used to can have a negative impact on your emotional state and behavior.
2) Habits last longer than fads. When you make changes slowly you are actually changing your habits and so will have results that are more likely to last.
3) Fast changes lead to frustration. When you try to make too many major changes too fast, you will get overwhelmed and frustrated easily. Taking things slow in the end is actually easier.
Just remember, slow and steady wins the race. You CAN reach your goals but it's not gonna happen overnight.
